Sunrise (poem)

As the pale yellow light spreads across the sky,
The morning bird chirps shrill and high.

The trees and flowers are painted with dew,
The butterfly wakes up, feeling beautiful and new.

And as people wake up slowly, rubbing their eyes,
Far in the Eastern side, they see the sunrise.

Ping pong ball (poem)

I was playing with a ball,
A ping pong ball,
It bounced outta my hand.
I jumped and bumped
In grandma's chair,
On sleeping kitty I did land.

The ping pong, though
Which did not care,
Went bouncing through the air.
And when I reached
For the bratty ball,
It just showed all its flair.

It bounced in then
The kitchen, no!
And broke the porcelain.
All cutlery,
Went the same way,
Mum's favourite bowl, insane!

The next stop was
My bedroom, boohoo!
The ball was not in hand.
It broke my watch,
My bedside lamp
And a glass of water too!

I grit my teeth,
and clenched my fist
And said to me -
"If this ball
Breaks one more thing,
I won’t let it go scot-free!"

But suddenly,
I heard no noise,
And went to check all aroun’
There was the ball,
The ping pong ball,
Tired and lifeless, fallen down.

The old lady's mother (poem)

When I was born,
My mother hugged me tight.
Not a fear was there in life.

When I was a toddler,
My mother held my finger.
And I walked for the very first time.

When I was a 7-year old,
My mother taught me ten plus ten was twenty
And my knowledge developed.

When I was a teenager,
My mother kept nagging.
I was so irritated.

When I joined an office,
My mother invested a lot in me.
She was a great mentor.

When I got married,
My mother didn't cry half a tear.
We stayed happy all along.

When I became a mother,
My mother pampered me.
And I was on cloud nine.

When I became a grandma,
My mother was frail.
I pampered her in turn.

Now I'm 95 years old,
Coughing, stuttering, sneezing.
And her final bell has rung.

Way to go, Tiddlewoo! (poem)

I wanted to go to Tiddlewoo,
To Tiddlewoo I wanted to go.

I asked a rabbit where it was,
But he just said 'Ho!'

I went ahead and saw a dog,
'Grr!', said he, oh no!

Walked further till saw the mouse,
And ah! 'Squee!' was synonym for no!

Board came, 'Tiddlewoo: 100000 km'
Sooo many zeros! Whoa!

Saw bird and asked, 'Tiddlewoo be where?'
Said she, 'Cheep cheep'  What?? Nooo!

I walked and walked and walked and walked,
Saw sign, 'Tiddlewoo: 1/2 km' Behold the lo!

Trotted me, walked me, sprinted me too!
And finally came Tiddlewoo!

What happened there, I remember it not,
But the place, ye know, was boilin' hot!

It! (poem)

I know something,
It was there.
In the my house
It gave me a scare!

It tickled my toes,
Like with a red rose.
It stroked my hand
Like with a rubber band.

When I turned,
Only the firewood burned.
Nobody was there,
I searched everywhere.

It was night, nine-past,
It all happened fast.
It touched, it stroked,
It was but soaked.

When the lights switched on,
I saw It and there was a laugh!
For it was just a feather,
And I broke it in half!

Inspector Izzy (poem)

Hi! I'm Inspector Izzy,
And this particular case was really frizzy.

There was a thief, who'd robbed a bank,
He was at the top of the 'Thief Rank'.

We called that guy the Black King,
Yup, he's the one who stole the Queen's ring.

The bank he'd robbed was a Duke's private one,
When the guards saw him, he took out his gun!

After a while, someone covered his mouth,
He tried to scream, but after a PUNCH, he passed out!

I uncovered my mask and a HUFF I let out,
Hey Black King! You're finally out!

I had followed this guy, after the alarm was set,
I knew he was gonna rob a bank, I had bet!

When he threatened the guards with his gun,
I was behind him, knocked him out, and then made a run!

In a minute or two, the police came and CLICK!
The handcuffs were cuffed, and eww! Black King got sick!

Right now he's in prison, really wanting to be free,
'Cause once Izzy's got you, you'd be desperate to flee!

Zombienstein (poem)

One night, when I was in bed,
I heard a loud crash.
There was someone in the house,
For the door I made a dash.

Downstairs I reached to examine
the kitchen, with a helmet on my head,
I heard a drooly munching noise,
And wished I were in bed.

I tiptoed to the kitchen door,
And found a girl there,
She looked the same age as me,
But had dirty bushy hair.

Her dress was full of stains,
Red, which looked like blood.
Her skin was pale and hands stretched out,
And in her ears, two dirty earbuds.

I knew immediately,
A Zombienstein there stood.
If you don't know what that is,
A zombie-cum-frankenstein, and that's not good.

She was staring at me,
Her mouth stuffed with food.
Looking really hungry, she pounced at me,
As if to take a bite, oh dude!

I took out my helmet,
And slammed it on her face.
She fell to the ground,
And was quite in a daze.

She stood up crying,
I knew it was fake.
Snapped I, "What are you doing here?"
Surprisingly she whispered, "Cake"

She seemed different; ate cakes, not humans
We talked for a while that's when I could see,
She had pounced
But on a cake crumb near me.

We chatted a bit,
And it was soon morning.
I gave her half a cake from the kitchen,
She left happy and smiling.

When mom woke up
I told her about the night.
She laughed really hard,
"Darling, you seem to have not slept alright!"

Up until now, mom doesn't believe me,
But yesterday the Zombienstein again came.
Said she wanted to be my friend,
"Hi I am Kleg; what's your name?"

Like a Sunflower (poem)

A sunflower is really beautiful,
Towards the sun, very dutiful.

She turns her head where the sun goes,
When night falls, her petals close.

She has a height which stuns all flowers,
And of nectar, she gives showers.

Her yellow petals are her hair,
Which she keeps with great care.

The prettiest flower? Yes, sunflower is the name.
Grows in fields and meadows, she has worldwide fame.

She faces the bright sun and leaves shadows behind,
A majestic flower, there's none of her kind.

If I were...

If I were a bird, I'd be an eagle,
I'd not flutter by the sea side,
like a stupid seagull,
I’d fly high with pride!

If I were an animal, I'd be a hare,
I'd not laze around,
like a fat bear,
I'd leap on the ground!

If I were an insect, I'd be a bee,
I'd not, all over animals, jump
like a pesky flea,
If you'd hurt me, I’d give you a sting on your rump!

But I’m a human, I love the way I am,
I’m just like the animals I want to be!
Energetic, fast, and proud I am,
I hope someone out there wants to be like me!
