School Birthday (poem)

Happy birthday happy birthday!
My dear Springdales,
You've just crossed 60,
And now 61 is your age!

Peace, Amity, Endeavour, Felicity,
Are four of the eight houses,
The others, Forward, Unity, Freedom, Equality,
All stand together with strong articulate voices!

UTs and Dictations,
Are now part of daily schedule,
Some are easy, some difficult,
But all have to be studied for, and that's the rule!

There are prefects and captains,
And I'm a prefect too,
Under the oath, in the long breaks and dispersal,
Our duties we do.

Mrs. Rajni Kumar (aka Nani Kumar!)
Is the mom of our principal,
Not only a nani but also the founder,
Of our lovely Springdales school.

Any problem in Junior school,
goes to ma'am Maleyvar, the headmistress;
But in senior school, if there's a problem,
Its straight away to the principal; so keep them less!

Our school's motto is,
Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam!
It means the world is a family,
All stuck together, like with glue and gum!

Music, SUPW, Dance and Art,
Are extra-curricular activities;
And only talented kids can be in special groups,
Like in the Choir, which sings in many festivities.

The Audi and Bal Vatika,
Are places for events,
The big field,
for carnivals, is meant.

The teachers, most importantly,
Are the people who teach us what we know!
The sun, the land, the water,
The mountains, and the snow.

Our childhood will continue in this very place,
It's such a lovely school;
Play and study will keep us going,
Springdales is number one, and it's students are super cool!

Rainy Day (poem)

What a day! What a time!
When there's rain,
Yummy pakoras and chutneys
Is what we gain!

We have warm tomato soup,
Only when there are breadsticks;
But ice cream is another option,
That's yummier and kids finish it with greedy licks!

Raincoats and gum boots,
Are dreaded by kids;
But rain without the coats and boots,
Makes them happy, but sometimes sick.

After the raining has stopped,
Kids go out in their lawn;
To jump up and down in muddy puddles,
And when tired, they start to yawn!

Then the sunny days come by,
Sometimes there's a drizzle or two;
But the heavy rains are always the best!
And the poem's over, thank you!

What peace means to me

What peace means to me - Is a world with smiles and glee! No wars or terrorist attacks, Or stolen goods in sacks. Friends...
