Time Travel 1015 to 2015

I was walking in the market and I met an old man..

He had a very long beard and was eating a fruit that looked like an apple but was much bigger and was very spiky. Out of curiosity, I went to him and asked him what he was eating. His response was in a completely different language that I could not understand.

I then tried sign language to communicate with him. He took a paper and wrote '1015' on it. I didn't understand what he wanted to tell me. So he took me to an empty land and showed me a huge machine. When I went closer to it, I saw that it was a time machine! I was dumbfounded!!!!

Then we went inside and he showed me a screen showing a map of the world. It was totally different from today's map. Countries had different names. India had a weird shape and looked bigger than it is today.

He showed me pictures of his family and I came to know that he was a scientist and that his name was Schwaufin. He was travelling through time as he wanted to see how technology had advanced over millennia!

Then through sign language he told me that he had to go to another year. We took pictures and selfies and then I waved him bye.

I then rushed back home trying hard to contain the excitement trampolining inside me! When I reached I blurted it all out to my mother and friends and showed them the photographs. I knew it was difficult for them to believe me, but they did; talk about astonishment!

Bounty of Nature (poem)

Here I am standing on a tower,
Looking for and finding my favourite flower;
I can see a tree,
With as many birds as can be.

The pleasant sky, with fluffy cloud,
The thundering thunder, is very loud;
I look through my window pane,
And I'm happy to see the rain.

In my garden,
A-a-achhoo!
Pardon!
I see cats that go mew mew mew,
Sniffing the flowers that look best with dew!

I wrote this poem as part of my summer holiday homework this year in std IV. Had a fun time composing this & also illustrating for it. If you like it, leave me a comment 😊 Also suggest some topics that I could write on!!

Cinderella; the midnight princess (Fairytale with a Twist!)

Once upon a time there lived a girl named Cinderella. She lived with her stepmother and stepsisters. They made her do all the household chores.

One day, an invitation from the prince came to Cinderella’s house for a ball. Her stepmother and stepsisters became ready for the ball and left Cinderella home.

Cinderella was crying when suddenly a woman appeared. “Who are you?” asked Cinderella. “I am the Fairy Godmother”, said the woman. “Why are you crying Cinderella?” “My stepmother and sisters never take me anywhere. They are very rude. They did not they take me to the ball tonight.”

The Fairy Godmother said, “Okay, I will help you”. So, she moved her wand and there came a blue dress, a carriage and beautiful horses. Cinderella had never seen such wonderful things and was now curious to try out more! So, she said, “Fairy Godmother, these are beautiful, but pink is my favourite colour. Can you give me a pink dress?” The Fairy godmother was startled! “Okay, well, I will give you a pink dress.” She moved her wand again and there came a pink dress. But still Cinderella was not satisfied. “Can you give me a silver dress? Pink is looking dull.” The Godmother smiled at Cinderella with surprise and said, “Alright my child, I will give you a silver one.” Then a silver dress appeared. Cinderella kept on trying the dresses and finally chose a golden dress. But she then wanted matching shoes. When everything was done, she said “Fairy Godmother, I want some make-up and jewelry too.” The Fairy Godmother’s head started spinning.

When Cinderella was finally happy with her dress and accessories, she asked the fairy Godmother “Oh Godmother! This carriage is very old-fashioned. Can I have a limousine instead?” Now the Fairy Godmother was absolutely speechless but she understood that Cinderella had never seen these things earlier and was therefore very excited, so she gave her the car!

“Godmother, can I make one last request?” asked Cinderella. “I have a few friends who are also poor like me and have never been to a ball. Will you also help them get ready for the party so that we all can enjoy?” The Fairy Godmother was very touched by Cinderella’s kindness and also got her friends ready for the ball.
When the girls were finally ready, the Godmother said “You must be back by midnight.” Cinderella said “Sure Godmother!” And, just as they were about to start, the clock struck twelve. Ding dong dong dong!!! Cinderella was very heartbroken. She had wasted all her time on dresses and make-up. “Oh Fairy Godmother, it is twelve already; I’ve missed my only chance to go to the ball” said Cinderella disappointed.

The Fairy Godmother however was very pleased with Cinderella’s kindness and said “Cinderella, because of your lovely nature, I have decided to let you and your friends keep all these gifts. I will also give you a nice house near the castle where all you girls can live comfortably and also get a chance to become friends with the prince!

Cinderella was thrilled to hear this. The girls thanked the Fairy Godmother and lived happily every after!
