What peace means to me

What peace means to me -
Is a world with smiles and glee!

No wars or terrorist attacks,
Or stolen goods in sacks.

Friendship and peace is all we want,
Bear hugs, warm handshakes, no fingers to point, no people to taunt.

Thieves or kidnappers, goodbye to them.
Nothing to worry about, whether gold or gem.

Violence is what is stopping peace,
With violence gone, no heads will be slain, no one will be on their knees.

All will travel freely, for holidays or business trips,
In flights, trains, buses or mighty cruise ships.

Say no to hatred, vengeance, greed 'n' fear,
Listen to your heart, your inner soul, my dear.

We owe it to the generations that are to be born of us,
Peace, love and harmony, no fuss no cuss.

So if you see any violence,
Just say this one sentence:
What peace means to you -
Peace means to me, a world with smiles and glee!

Sunrise (poem)

As the pale yellow light spreads across the sky,
The morning bird chirps shrill and high.

The trees and flowers are painted with dew,
The butterfly wakes up, feeling beautiful and new.

And as people wake up slowly, rubbing their eyes,
Far in the Eastern side, they see the sunrise.

Way to go, Tiddlewoo! (poem)

I wanted to go to Tiddlewoo,
To Tiddlewoo I wanted to go.

I asked a rabbit where it was,
But he just said 'Ho!'

I went ahead and saw a dog,
'Grr!', said he, oh no!

Walked further till saw the mouse,
And ah! 'Squee!' was synonym for no!

Board came, 'Tiddlewoo: 100000 km'
Sooo many zeros! Whoa!

Saw bird and asked, 'Tiddlewoo be where?'
Said she, 'Cheep cheep'  What?? Nooo!

I walked and walked and walked and walked,
Saw sign, 'Tiddlewoo: 1/2 km' Behold the lo!

Trotted me, walked me, sprinted me too!
And finally came Tiddlewoo!

What happened there, I remember it not,
But the place, ye know, was boilin' hot!

Inspector Izzy (poem)

Hi! I'm Inspector Izzy,
And this particular case was really frizzy.

There was a thief, who'd robbed a bank,
He was at the top of the 'Thief Rank'.

We called that guy the Black King,
Yup, he's the one who stole the Queen's ring.

The bank he'd robbed was a Duke's private one,
When the guards saw him, he took out his gun!

After a while, someone covered his mouth,
He tried to scream, but after a PUNCH, he passed out!

I uncovered my mask and a HUFF I let out,
Hey Black King! You're finally out!

I had followed this guy, after the alarm was set,
I knew he was gonna rob a bank, I had bet!

When he threatened the guards with his gun,
I was behind him, knocked him out, and then made a run!

In a minute or two, the police came and CLICK!
The handcuffs were cuffed, and eww! Black King got sick!

Right now he's in prison, really wanting to be free,
'Cause once Izzy's got you, you'd be desperate to flee!

Like a Sunflower (poem)

A sunflower is really beautiful,
Towards the sun, very dutiful.

She turns her head where the sun goes,
When night falls, her petals close.

She has a height which stuns all flowers,
And of nectar, she gives showers.

Her yellow petals are her hair,
Which she keeps with great care.

The prettiest flower? Yes, sunflower is the name.
Grows in fields and meadows, she has worldwide fame.

She faces the bright sun and leaves shadows behind,
A majestic flower, there's none of her kind.

A Talking Shoe Wish

If my shoes could talk,
And side by side walk;

It would be just awesome,
Sometimes irritating, but mostly fun!

When it's playtime after school,
My shoes would come jumping, as if so cool;

They'd shout and say,
"Come on, wear us, let's run and play!"

When tired I would pant,
They'd come up sneakily, like little ants,

Those sneakers would sit on my head,
And stubbornly not get off my bed!

Then sneakily, when they would be sleeping, would,
tie their laces together, and let them be still.

Ha! What fun it would be,
To see them struggle to untie, I'll guffaw in glee!

But sometimes I wish, if talk they really could,
they'll make companions good!

We would chatter and not feel lone,
And have fun in our awesome playzone!

Serendipity! (poem)

Bingo and Bob, worked in a museum,
Cheery men, worked happily with a hum!

All the antiques, they kept shiny and clean,
The cleanest statues ever seen!

One day, when cleaning an antique vase,
It started wobbling and ground crashed... Alas!

They scampered around, thinking what to do now,
"How do we fix this vase, oh how?"

Then Bingo exclaimed, "Let's get some glue,
And stick the pieces together, woohoo!"

Bob agreed and got glue to fix,
the parts of the vase; but of pieces there was a mix!

They stuck pieces random, panicked and scared,
And the next day at auction, the loudspeaker blared -

"The first item to bid is a vase, so unique.
Its shape's very weird, yet looks so chic!"

The bidding started thereon,
Until one man called Bron,

Bought it with the highest amount,
100 crores, with too many zeros to count!

The money went to Bob and Bingo,
'cos they had created this cool vase, yo!

They were rich now and built a museum,
Their very own, where cheery men work happily with a hum!

The Perfect Winter Cocoa! (poem)

The perfect winter cocoa,
Has loads and loads of chocolate!
All sugary, warm and frothy,
Finish it with sips and licks, till it leaves a lingering taste

It is full of all things sweet,
And heaps of marshmallows, as we drink, we eat!

Gooey and milky, its smell makes my eyes twinkle,
I love it more with a kiss of sprinkles.

A few dollops of cream could do well too,
But only for children, and only a few!

While drinking the cocoa, the surroundings should be warm,
Like under the blankets, on the couch, where everybody wants to swarm!

The perfect winter cocoa,
Is never turned down!
'Cause it's so yummylicious,
As precious as a gem-studded crown!

Pluto - the untold story! (poem)

There was a once a planet called Dong,
Where the people had lived quite long!

It was very pretty and green,
The healthiest planet ever seen!

But once, suddenly, it all went black!
As black as black it is in a closed sack!

All the aliens were very scared,
So in the night, one bed they shared!

Slowly, the planet became dark and bad,
The Dongers became lonely and sad.

Then suddenly, a Donger spotted light!
And in a few days, planet Dong became bright!

A little sapling shot from the ground,
And slowly, it bore fruits juicy and round!

Planet Dong was again pretty and green!
The healthiest planet ever seen!

Then one day a group of astronauts from Earth came,
Discovered planet Dong, and received acclaim and fame!

The astronauts named this planet Pluto,
And the Dongers (now Plutons) thought, 'Earthlings changed our planet's name? Huh Oh.'

The Plutons became irritated and sad,
They thought, 'The Earthlings, their interference and experiments are so bad!'

So in a few years, Pluto went 'off course',
The scientists said, 'Now, Pluto is out the Solar System, of course!'

Very sadly, the Plutons, left the Solar System,
But then sighed, 'To leave the Solar System is wisdom.'

So after leaving us, Pluto was happy again,
And their first name, 'Dong', they did gain!

So now, from 'My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets,
(M, V, E, M, J, S, U, N, P)
It has become, 'My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Noodles!'
(M, V, E, M, J, S, U, N)

Barmer Farmer (poem)

There was once a farmer,
Who grew barmer,

He didn't know what he grew,
So he started to sell chicken stew!

But he was a vegetarian, he then remembered,
So in a chemistry club, he got membered!

He didn't even know the C of Chemistry,
So he decided to be a detective to solve a mystery!

He was totally scared after the mystery was solved,
So in botany he got involved!

Botany, he thought, was so boring,
That farming tools for the king, he started storing!

He thought, "Life was better as a farmer",
So he again began to grow barmer!

TinkleToes - the Dairy Fairy! (poem)

TinkleToes the little fairy,
Works in Fairyland's dairy!

She has a cow, her name is Bessy,
And while milking her, she does get messy!

She pasteurises the milk or sells it fresh,
And to keep it safe from flies and bugs, covers it with a mesh.

She makes cottage cheese with this milk,
Soft and bumpy, but not smooth as silk!

The creamy chocolates and flavoured yoghurts,
Don't eat them all at once; eat them in spurts!

Sweet 'n' spicy buttermilk to cool down when feeling hot,
And warm vanilla milkshakes, in a carton or small pot!

The cheese she makes, Mozzarella, Gouda etc,
So soft and yummy, comes in boxes and best enjoyed with tetra!

And the best is the ice cream, in every flavour possible!
Chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, strawberry and gum bubble!

You can visit her any time, by taking the Fairy Folk Rail,
But first take an appointment, and send it by e-mail!

Her phone number is 2701-TToes
And e-mail 2701@Tinkle.Toes!

You'll get the tastiest dairy products here, the shop is called Bessy 'n' TToes',
And just beside it, there is, for you and your friends, Dame Sweetbun's Marshmallows!

I wonder how! (poem)

I wonder how a little seed grows,
And how the cool breeze blows;

How the trees don't need to work hard,
And how the ATM works with just one card.

How the stars don't fall to ground,
And mice make the littlest sound;

How water flows and never stops,
And all our farmers grow the crops.

How do the phones call,
And a skyscraper stands so tall;

How are shoes made,
And in knives there is a blade.

How do we live, on this planet,
Did we come by a train or a jet?

How is life so wonderful,
With nature, concrete and us, it's beautiful!

Busy Bee Me

My dearest Kiddylane friends,
I haven't written poems these past few weekends,

Because of some important reasons,
And the change of seasons!

Mom said I should have,
But I would have,
If I could have!

I had a meeting with Barack Obama,
He wanted to discuss with me a world championship for drama!

Then I went to Thomas Martin Einstein's
tracking lab, to track a lost UFO, what science!

Next I had to go to Burj-al-Arab and Burj Khalifa,
To have Arabic coffee and cardamom tea with Sheikh Khalifa!

Later when I reached home, I found out about my broken ceiling,
And I had to live in a tribal tent, talk about a scary feeling!

So, the ceiling is repaired now,
My little cousin did it somehow!

Finally, I can write my poem tonight,
With my mind so fresh and bright;

Bye comrades, I have to now go home,
'Coz tomorrow again, I'm meeting the Pope in Rome!

And I hope you believe my words,
These aren't excuses for not writing,
I really really would have,
If I really really could have!
